Family Selection Criteria
Habitat for Humanity does not build homes for families; it builds homes with
families who demonstrate need and willingness to partner with Habitat by helping to construct their homes and the
homes of others. The hands-on experience of home construction is empowering for homebuyers, giving them a sense
of pride and investment in the communities they help to build.
The following are the key factors in qualifying to become a Habitat Partner Family:
Key Qualifying Factors
- Housing Need: My current living situation has structural issues, living space concerns, safety
issues, is temporary, too expensive or overcrowded.
- Ability to Pay: I believe my family’s income meets the median household guidelines.
- Willingness to Partner: My family is willing to put in 300 hours of work toward the construction
of this home and the home of others.
- Residency: I have lived or worked in Carroll or Haralson counties for one year.
If you meet these criteria, return to the Home Ownership Page
for more information.
"Habitat for
Humanity" is a registered service mark owned by Habitat for Humanity International.
